TruFlat® White MDF is pre-painted black on both sides, saving you time and money in material preparation. No masking, no problem!!! Scorch can be removed with a baby wipe (wipe gently to not damage the finish).
TruFlat® has a slight texture to its surface and a semi-gloss finish to it. Engineered to resist warping and ready to cut and engrave straight out of the box.
Boards are cut 11 3/4" x 19" by hand. There may be slight variations but will be very close to the size listed.
RECOMMENDED SETTINGS: Proofgrade Medium Draftboard. This is a good starting point but may need to be adjusted to your specific machine/conditions.***

I purchased a few boards of various colors of the TruFlat material. After cutting the first board, I placed a larger order. These boards are easy clean with and engrave beautifully.

This might be lengthy because this is not my usual wood. But the finishes looked awesome so I had to try.
First off, thank you Alex for the great customer service by cutting down the pieces to my size. The leftovers became my test pieces.
I have the xtool 10 w M1 diode laser cutter. My “go-to” wood for cutting is 3mm basswood. I have used Baltic birch in the past with very mixed result. So maybe you can understand my skepticism with this wood.
Next, finishes are great. Maple good so good and the linen was very classy. Started my cuts at 100 power, 5 speed and 5 passes. It will cut, as they say on Forged in Fire. However, due to a recent update from xtool, there is now a function where you can lower the focus. Lowering the focus down 2mm,, and using 100 power, 3 speed and 3 passes, it cut. But I didn’t like the time spent. So I did 100 power, 3 speed and 1 pass with lowering focus down 2 mm. IT CUT!!! Beautifully, I might add.
So I went to town and cut like crazy. Pictures below.
I only have 2 pieces of black 12x12 left, so I will be ordering more. So happy I have alternative wood options now.
