This smooth raw MDF cuts cleanly, paints easily, and typically does not require sanding before use. It is a great everyday material for CO₂ lasers including Glowforge, Aeon, Boss, K40-style machines, and similar hobby and production lasers.

Material Notes

Sheets are cut by hand, so minor size variations may occur. Actual dimensions will be very close to the listed 11 3/4" × 19" size.

We have used this MDF in laser applications for years and have found it to be a dependable, easy-to-work material for both hobby and production use.

Laser Settings

Glowforge users can use Proofgrade Medium Draftboard as a starting point. Settings may need to be adjusted based on your specific laser, tube power, optics, airflow, material batch, and machine condition.

I'm absolutely thrilled. I emailed with questions and the replies were prompt; I had a request and they said "sure!". I ordered my wood on Saturday and on Wednesday it arrived, even with a special request (!); the box was in terrific condition, the wood exactly as they promised. I've figured out the settings for this particular MDF and, yes! My Epilog is cutting all the intricate and fiddly bits of my patterns in one pass. And ULEF, to boot, which is important for me and my asthma. Thank you, Antoinette and Alex! I will be back.

Won't shop mdf here again

I wanted to give LWS a chance since they are often advertise their bulk mdf is always $99 with free shipping. I received my boxes and they were very damaged. The corners were busted open. Thankfully the mdf was not damaged. I didn't like that all sheets were loose and not plastic sealed for easier moving and storing. Lasty, when I went to use the wood I found that the sheets are very warped. I'm disappointed because I was really hoping they would have the same standard or better than my current supplier.

Quality MDF

I've recently started working on building a tiny business, mostly selling on Facebook and a couple local craft fairs.
